At VSAS, we assist vehicle manufacturers throughout the type approval process with a range of homologation services relating to regulatory approval.

Vehicles requiring homologation in South Africa:

Passenger vehicles (M1, M2, M3): This includes cars, minibuses, and buses.
Goods vehicles (N1, N2, N3): This includes trucks, vans, and other vehicles designed for transporting goods.
Trailers (O1, O2, O3, O4): This includes various types of trailers used for towing goods or vehicles.
Agricultural tractors: These vehicles, particularly those with speeds exceeding 40 km/h, require homologation.
Motorcycles and motor tricycles .
Special purpose vehicles: This includes vehicles like ambulances, prisoner conveyance vehicles, and security vehicles.
Certain vehicle parts: Some vehicle parts, such as child restraints, laminated glass, and replacement headlights, also require homologation.
